Tbolt Nick's Audio Requests
For those of you who may or may not know me, I am an audio artist. I create custom tracks and audio using a variety of popular tools like Audacity, Sony Sound Forge, Goldwave, etc. In the past, I mostly used these for making audio for video games. Which is funny, cause I still do make video games for Android...
Anyways, I've decided to give back to this lovely community and start taking requests on those who would like some sort of custom audio for their TBolt. This could range from notification sounds to ringtones. I do them all! I've recently discovered the appropriate levels and quality to make them 'phone ready.' So feel free to either private message me or just post on here. In the future, I plan to have some sample work on here for those who wish to gauge my style.
I've placed a nice little guide below for those who may not know how to add their custom ringtones, notifications, and alarms to their Tbolt. Some people like to use Ringdroid from the Market, but I find this is a lot easier and more in my control. Sometimes Ringdroid doesn't copy the file correctly to the folder and you will randomly hear static from your audio. However, Ringdroid also lets your crop the WAV file however you wish inside the phone, as opposed to having to use an application from your computer.
Also, for those who wish to make ringtones using Audacity on your own, feel free to use the Audacity Making Ringtone's Wiki as a guide. Thanks for the link and the find, Cmartin!

..::Tbolt Nick's Guide to Setting Up New Ringtones, Notifications, and Alarms::..
NOTE: I'm using the Windows 7 Operating System for this guide. Other Windows Platforms will of course have a similar setup. Mac instructions may be a little different. If anyone wishes to provide a guide, I will be happy to post on here!
<Version 1>
-Added text version of Windows Guide - Pictures and screenshots coming soon!
<Version 1.1>
-Sample work ADDED!! At least I got one up there!
- For starters, you will need a .WAV file. Why WAV instead of the popular MP3 format? This gives a crisper sound through the phone since it is 'raw' sound data as opposed to compression like MP3. A lot of the tones can come out scratchy or 'not as good' quality. However, WAV can pick up EVERYTHING once it is recorded. Even background noise. However, I have many programs that I develop on that get rid of that background noise. And don't worry about space, the Tbolt can handle it

- Now, connect your Tbolt to your computer via USB.
- Slide down the notification bar on the Tbolt and check to see if by the USB Icon says Disk Drive. If not, click on the icon and select Disk Drive from the next menu and then select Done.
- Now, from your computer, open up your SD Card Drive. By default, it should read Removable Drive. Make a folder called 'ringtones' with all lowercase letters (yes, including the first!) if you want to add custom ringtones. If you want custom notification sounds (text messages, voicemails, etc.) then you can add another folder called 'notifications.' If you also want any custom alarms, you can also create another folder called 'alarms.' Again, make sure the names of the folders are all lower case letters and that they are in the root folder of your SD card. These folders are where your WAV files are going to go.
- FOR NOTIFICATIONS AND ALARMS: From here, it is just simply dragging them and dropping them into their designated files. For notifications, drop them into the 'notifications' folder. For alarms, into the 'alarms' folder. Easy stuff! They should now appear on the drop down list when you change your notifications.
Remember: The filename of your audio is what will display on the dropdown list. If you want to name it something, simply right-click from your computer on the ringtone file and hit Rename.
- FOR RINGTONES: As you drag and drop or copy and paste your ringtone's WAV files into the 'ringtones' folder, they will appear in a special list on your Tbolt for ringtones you can add. With ringtones, you have to 'add' to the list as opposed to simply dragging and dropping them in like notifcations and alarms. To get to this menu, tap the Tbolt's Third Menu Icon (it should look like a paint pallette with a paintbrush next to it) and then scroll all the way down until you get to Ringtone. Tap that, and you should see a list of ringtones and a large button that takes up the top of the screen that says Add New Ringtone. Now, simply select your ringtone and voila! It should add it to the list. Like notifications and alarms, the name of the ringtone will be the name of the file. If you wish to change it, simply right-click the WAV file on your computer and hit Rename.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
..::Sample Work::..
Thunder Notification - I recently made this to go with the 'Thor' theme I am putting on my phone for the upcoming movie. Feel free to use as you wish!
Priest Notification - Awesome notification of when he opens the Bible and throwing stars come out. Classic.
Priest Ringtone - A compilation of many things from the trailer with my own beat. The Tbolt can't handle the bass I put on, but it still sounds awesome.

Very cool stuff!
Now if we could just get you to root, you could easily put all of those great sounds in the system folder that holds the rest of them...

Never!!!
lol. Maybe one day. I know there won't be a high demand for audio. But I'd like to give people the option.

To be honest, I like the stock setup and I have had no issues with it. I rooted my Moment because it was unusable otherwise. I guess that's just the way I feel about rooting. Don't worry, one day I'll buckle down and get it done
