So yea, I just purchased a Thunderbolt a few days ago, wanted to to run stock, but increase efficiency, battery life is horrid on this thing. Anyways, I believe I have been tricked into thinking the official HTC bootloader unlock method allows one to do the things I want. If it does not, I have no clue as to how to go about cleaning up my phone as I don't have root access, the apps I want to use won't run. Any suggestions would be nice.

Is there any way to relock the phone? I am not worried about warranty.

Yes, assuming you are talking about the bootloader. You must be logged in at the HTC Dev site before this link will work.
HTCdev - Please Log In
Step 14 is how to re-lock the bootloader.

I'm sorry for posting all of these questions in a development forum but I am trying to understand all of this stuff. Why can't a phone be downgraded if the bootloader is unlocked? Wouldn't that make it easier?
And I am re-locking it now.

I have not a clue if this matters or not at this point, I am unable to root my phone, its bootloader is unlocked through the HTC tool on their Dev site, I am S-On, and have no root access. stumped. here is the link to the original rooting thread where I have a discussion, I hope to get something resolved. On last page.

Quick question before I upgrade radio
Hi folks,
I am stock Rev. rooted. Verizon slyly downloaded the .9 update on my phone in the dark of the night but I was able to recover/reboot the phone. I then froze some things that prevented the phone from upgrading again and stopped the nagging to upgrade. Not a peep since.....
Question is:
Since I am rooted and running .5, can I simply download and install the new radio given my TBolt's current state?
I read the thread but didn't see my question covered-if it was I apologize. Many thanks in advance.
regards,
Jeff

I countered the same problem following till step 8 and the menu back to the beginning, never popped up anything about update press volume up. Tried a couple of times, only find my 4g LTE no longer works...
Can someone please help? I have never rooted my phone nor unlocked ever.
