Downloading data (animated) symbol always appearing
As a new Thunderbolt user; I am slowly adjusting to the world of androids. In any case; currently the symbol which indicates "downloading data (animated)" is constantly appearing in upper left corner. This did not start until the 2nd day of use. Anyone know if this is a normal ongoing event? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Make sure you open Blockbuster and disable update movies
-
Gave that a look, Blockbuster disabled, symbol still there.
-
Did you clear the window by chance
-
Have you rebooted?
or settings/applications/All tab/ Market/Force Close, clear data?
-
or switched airplane mode on then rebooting? or a special "turn my data off" dance?

sorry..had to step away for a bit. tried most of the responses with negative results. this may be a dumb question, but what does "close the window" mean? i very rarely used internet on other phones. in any event, when i am on a webpage, i simply leave it by going to the home screen. is that the right way to leave internet? and regarding the downloading symbol that remains, it stays even if i disconnect from the network. so how is it downloading if not even on a network? i apologize for my clear lack of knowledge in this area, still learning by doing. and thanks for all the responses.

swipe your finger down from the top and a launcher window opens.... it will give you a tab for clearing it out...that's if they are not running...you can also tap what is there to go to whatever it is....
-
Is it the image with an arrow pointing down with a line under it? Does it keep moving or is it sitting still? If it's sitting still you could simply have a file that downloaded and it's done downloading...

Also, have you tried opening up the Market to see if there's something that keeps trying to download/install but is unsuccessful?
