a few issues with Thunderbolt...recommendations to fix?
hey all, i've been messing with my fiancee's thunderbolt off and on for about a week now...it's still stock (had a lot of trouble trying to root it, so i just stopped) and we have a few issues...first, it drops signal almost constantly out of nowhere. i have a Razr Maxx (both on Verizon, obviously) and i'll still have great signal but she'll lose hers.
second problem is the one all Thunderbolt owners seem to have...the battery life is atrocious. within about an hour and a half of steady use (data, text, some phone), it's about dead. we tried putting another battery in, but nothing different.
so, i ask all you Thunderbolters, what would be the best course of action to fix this? thanks in advance...

Try reseating the 4G SIM Card and see if that fixes your signal, that might be why your battery is losing juice as well.
As for that pesky battery, there are several tips you can do, which I unfortunately don't have the link to at the moment. I usually try to stay on WiFi, turn off 4G when I don't need it, turn off Auto Sync or set them to larger intervals, and have a low brightness setting. I have the Rezound battery, which gives me about 10-12 hours on medium use. I also keep a spare battery in case my phone decides to have a day where it eats up my battery in two hours.
Hope this clarified everything for you. Let me know if you need anything else.

thanks a lot Nick! i'll give this a shot and see if it improves. i had already heard about the Rezound battery and will be ordering one soon. if we could just get the thing to hold signal we could live with the battery issue (assuming, of course, that the two issues aren't related)...

"turn off Auto Sync or set them to larger intervals"...I know how to turn off auto sync, but where do I increase the intervals???...I wouldn't mind if it checked every 2 hours or so, instantaneous feedback is not necessary...thanks...

Settings >Accounts & Sync
Sometimes you can find it in the app itself as well.

Also imo the extended battery is a must for this phone. And I've had signal issues like yours. Mine ended up being my stock battery cover. The extended battery cover works fine. Your signal issues may be draining your battery. I've also noticed these signal issues in regards to sim cards and location actually. If its your location you may be better served to set the phone to 3g only.
