Here’s some news that ought to make ThunderBolt owners smile: an HTC representative reportedly told a customer that Gingerbread will be made available for Verizon’s new flagship phone in – wait for it – Q2. According to Droid Life, John (or rudyt83) emailed HTC customer support after experiencing some issues with Bluetooth on his new ThunderBolt. Honestly, I'm not that surprised. The TB IS the best phone out there It definitely deserves Gingerbread.

How significant is the power management in Gingerbread going to be when translated to extra time it will enable the phone to be used?

In my role at work, I spent a fair of time talking to the fellow at HTC who manages the relationship with Verizon. He promised me Froyo on the Incredible for literally months before it actually happened. To be fair, it *did* happen, but it took for freaking EVER.

I tend to take what HTC says with a grain of salt. I love their gear, to be sure, but they are slow to release. The flip side is that the stock ROMs are pretty much bullet proof!

They might be slow but there are others who are slower not to mention any Samsung names.

But with that being said we did have it on our phones way befor verizon said we could.....

Hmmm, if in fact the Thunderbolt is due to get Gingerbread OTA, I wonder if the same holds true for the HTC Inspire. Figures - since I just got done rooting my Inspire, over the weekend.
