touch screen not working on certain parts
there are a few spots on my screen that are not working properly, when i try to type, say the letter O, the letter P gets typed instead. it does similar things in other spots as well. this just started yesterday. no major drops, I use an otter box defender series for those anyways, and no spills. i am currently doing a factory reset and re installing everything to see if it will help.
my question is if that does not work does it mean my phone is toast? my warranty just ran out a month ago.

My otterbox caused those issues.

how can a case cause touch screen issues?
Got ahold of verizon today, they were very helpful and offered to give me an out of warranty replacement because of the hardware issue. they also are shipping it next day air at no cost.

i took mine off months ago, before i even got the replacement i currently have. so i know it can not be the, thanks for the heads up on that though for future phones, how can the membrane mess it up? also does that mean they are all bad? what about ones like ghost armor?

I had problems too. My particular problem was similar. If I tapped n it would be a b or m. Also had other issues too. Finally I got mad enough to try smacking the screen a couple times. It immediately went back to normal. I just did this and look at all the ns in my post :-)

I really did just try this, thinking to myself that this was the last resort. It actually worked for me. I had problems with the letters I, K, and M not working. They work fine now that I smacked my phone around a little. Very happy and very glad that I didn't spend the $50 to get a cheap phone off of craigslist.

What do you know, maybe hitting technology actually does something.......or maybe its just the design of the Thunderbolt to need to be hit every once and a while.
