Roms not installing properly

I've owned droid's since they first came out. That said I'm pretty familiar with the root process and flashing ROM's. I got the Thunderbolt frmo a friend when my phone broke. He had a ROM on it already but I wanted something a little different. The issue is every ROM I try to install doesn't work. In recovery it says its sucessful, upon rebooting it just sits at the splash screen. I've tried 3 different ROMs and all the same result. I even went as far as returning it to stock and starting frmo scratch, nothing. Any suggestions?

If your using the revolutionary version of clockwork download Rom manager and flash clockwork from there. The revolutionary version always does that to me.
