I've tried everything I've read so far- still white HTC screen

Hello to everyone and I hope you can help fix this problem since I'm past the point of pulling my hair out.

I have a stock Thunderbolt running 2.3.4. For some unknown reason, it rebooted itself yesterday then became stuck on the HTC white screen. Things I have tried.

1) Battery pull and restart
2) Stock Recovery
3) Wiping cache
4) Hard Reset
5) Flashing some P IMG something or other from the SD card

As you can tell, I know less than nothing about Linux, programming, or anything computer/electronic stuff in general. It just isn't my field so I am dependent on following instructions step by step from forums.

Questions:

Can anyone help undo this mess and make the phone just freaking work again?

If not, is there anything I can do to make one of these old AT&T phones work on Verizon? They are both unlocked if that matters: Motorola Atrix, Sony Xperia.

We have another Thunderbolt, a Droid Razr, and an Incredible in the household- anything we can do to them to prevent this mess on those devices as well?

Fixed! Other than not having 4G, everything else seems to be working fine.

Help with boot loop

I had to go through this routine a few times but for some reason about the 3rd time I tried it instead of kicking me back into the white screen loop- it actually started up.

So what exactly fixed it? I'm having the same prob with mine.
