battery internet reboot
Alrighty experts, heres an intriguing one (for me at least!)
Lately I have been suffering from random shutdowns, not reboots. It ONLY occurs when I am on the internet, unplugged, using 3G or 4G. If I am plugged in or on WiFi, I can surf all day. Oh, if I am using an app such as facebook or other internet reliant app, it will behave the same. I would be at 90% battery, but when I turn phone back on after its random shutdown, it will show battery down to 20% or even 5%. BUT when I plug it in to recharge, it jumps back up to around 70% or more within seconds.
I installed an app today to monitor battery, thinking thats the problem. I charge at 4212mV, but when unplug, I am dropping to around 3730 - 3900mV while keeping screen on and music playing. In 8 minutes, Ive dropped to 89%.
Here is my usual behavior with the phone. Plugged in from around 10:30pm till 4:30am. unpluged for almost an hour, then plugged back into car charger for drive (aprx 45 minutes), then used on bus for around 1 - 1 1/2 hour mostly music, some facebook, a little surfing. then a short walk and plugged into dock for listening to music at my desk. reverse that on the way home. Usually unplugged from 5:45pm till 10:30pm.
When at home, usually WiFi, 3g to 4g elsewhere. It has shut off randomly when out and about, and I didn't have my charger (the wifes car, etc) and I cant get it to stay on because my battery will indicate less than 10% charge, so it keeps shutting off.
So, is this battery or something else? I just want to find the issue before heading to verizon since I am rooted.
Any advice or suggestions are welcome!
Thanks in advance!

I retract my statement actually. I've just been informed that it's a well-known myth ><. Deleting "batterystats.bin" in android won't give more juice to battery! - xda-developers Hope that helps and sorry for giving you incorrect information.

You are correct in saying that. Give it a check and report back.

Nope, went on the internet, after about 2 minutes, it shut off. The only thing it did different is showed the battery to be aroudn 85% when I turned it back on. I will be heading to Verizon today to see about a new battery, still hope its that. Hate spending money on something I am not positive on! Thanks for the advice and help!

So ordered the battery. Of course, no one within 25 miles has any except the ginormous extended battery. No thanks, ship to my house. Should be here monday. Will run a few tests of the old battery to see where voltage is running at what percentages, and compare to new battery. Will post results as soon as I can.
thanks again for your help Thunderbolt_nick!
