Can I root the Tbolt Stock just to remove bloat and then unroot to keep it secure?
I have a Tbolt stock with all the regular updates. Is it possible to root the phone without wiping it, remove all the stock Verizon apps and bloat, and then unroot to make it secure? If I can't unroot, I guess I'll just keep it with root. My main goal is to just remove all the junk without erasing everything. Is there a simple way to do this? This is 2.3.4 build 2.11.605.19 710RD
If there is a guide or post about this please let me know and thanks in advance.

You can't unroot because that puts the bloat back

So do you really believe that bull. Last time I heard when you debloat a phone, your uninstalling the apps.
So how does unrooting restore the files?

Um, they're system Apps. Unrooting requires flashing an ruu. Even if you didn't flash an ruu, and just the hboot, you're stuck with a security warning. Do your homework before you go after me.

What trter said is true. I know from first hand experience. Had hubby's phone rooted and running well and then the phone had to be returned for hardware issues (bad bluetooth). Of course it had to be unrooted to send back. Everything was back on there when I unrooted it including the htc loggers and stock apps that was the reason for rooting in the first place.

Also, there is no need to reroot to "secure" your phone. As long as you pay attention to what you install you'll be fine.
